The Grass wasn't Greener

[This email applies to all Live Oak Hosting customers utilizing our anti-spam service.]

We had great hopes and dreams for the new anti-spam service powered by GFI, however it has become clear that our original Ironport solution was indeed better.  Even with all of our testing, preparation, and custom integration with the GFI platform, our customers have spoken, and we've been listening.  Ironport was better - and we're moving back to Ironport.

All of our outbound email has now been reverted back through our original Ironport servers.  Inbound email has not been changed yet, but it will be soon.

What Happens Next?

The original configurations are still intact on our Ironport devices.  We actually never turned them off so they have been running quietly in the background.  In small groups, we will be moving email back to the Ironport servers over the next two weeks.  If you manage your own DNS, we will be contacting you to schedule the transfer.  If you want to revert sooner than later, just email us and let us know.  You are welcome to make the change at any time.

What if I want to keep GFI?

There may be some of you who wish to keep GFI for various reasons and that's ok.  If you wish to keep it, just let us know and we'll make sure no changes are made to your account.

What about all the benefits of GFI?

GFI absolutely had some nice features.  The challenge is that the bells and whistles are secondary to actually blocking the spam.  Ironport clearly does a better job of the primary objective - stopping spam.
