Most Live Oak Hosting customers don't know this little piece of trivia, but Live Oak Hosting was first announced on July 4th, 2003. Many of our first customers were looking for independence from poor support, server downtime, and voice-jail roulette. We're here to deliver. By popular demand, Live Oak Hosting was born 5 years ago today. Thanks to your help, feedback, referrals, and loyalty, we have grown by leaps and bounds, and we hope you have too. On this special day, we'd like to thank each of you for being our customers, partners, and friends. It's been a bit crazy around our offices this year and our annual survey, usually sent in January, is just now making its way to inboxes everywhere. Starting Monday, July 7th, you'll get one of 3 invitations to share your opinions, feedback, and ideas with us. As soon as you respond to the survey, you'll stop getting reminders. We send out 3 reminders because we know everyone is busy, on vacation, or just plain forgets. The survey takes just a few minutes but is incredibly helpful as we make changes to our plans, identify and invest in new services, and most importantly, find out how we can help your organization grow and flourish. So, please be on the lookout for the survey invitation coming on Monday, July 7th and take a few minutes to help us be your hosting partner for life!

Email Configuration Challenges Not all networks are created equal. If you change networks a great deal (home, work, hotel, airport, etc.), you may find the email configuration you use for one network does not necessarily work for all. The reason many networks restrict access is to prevent spammers from using their network and bandwidth to send out spam. But, as a result, it also keeps you from checking or sending valid email. Live Oak email customers always have access to their email from any internet connection by going to http://webmail.yourdomainname.com. From here, you can log in using your email username and password to get past even the most restrictive networks. This method works well if you are changing networks constantly and don't have time to troubleshoot configuration issues. However, if you would like us to help you troubleshoot your new configuration, we would love to hear from you!
