Why Doesn't My Website Show Up in the Search Engines? Creating a website and making it available on the internet does not mean it will appear on search engines like Google and Yahoo. And even if it does, it is not likely that it will show up in the top rankings. Naturally, the next question is usually "So how do I do that?" The easy answer is to make sure your website is properly crafted with some basic information in your site's html. This includes making sure you have a properly named title tag, meta tags that contain relevant information about your site, as well as real content within your website to make it a resource worth searching for. However, you may have already done these things and the site still isn't showing up in search engines for certain key words.
